The purpose of Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.

School Plan for Shared Student Achievement

Let's Get Together!

Our School will host the following events to build capacity for strong parental involvement. Our goal is to support a partnership among the school, parents, and the community to improve student academic achievement.

OPEN HOUSE
Parents and students will meet the teacher, visit their classrooms, and receive information about transportation, PTA, technology, school procedures, etc. 

 DATE: 2/10/2026

TIME: 6:30 - 8:00 pm

LOCATION: BES
PERUSING IN PAJAMAS
Each grade level transforms a classroom decorated with characters, settings, themes, etc. of different genres of books.  Parents and students travel through classrooms listening to stories and gaining new and exciting experiences at each stop.

REPORT CARD CONFERENCES
Students, parents, and teachers meet every nine weeks to discuss students' academic progress.
DATE: 4/24/26
TIME: 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

FIELD DAY / KONA ICE
Fun-filled event where students participate in a variety of outdoor games and activities that promote teamwork, physical fitness, and school spirit.  Kona Ice will be set up as one of the stations, where students can enjoy a refreshing shaved ice reward after completing their activities and showing great effort.

    NC STAR Indicators:

    B3.03  The principal monitors curriculum and classroom instruction regularly and provides timely, clear, constructive feedback to teachers.

    D1.02  The LEA/School has aligned resource allocation (money, time, human resources) within each school's instructional priorities. 

    A4.01  The school implements a tiered instructional system that allows teachers to deliver evidence-based instruction aligned with the individual needs of students across all tiers. 

    A2.01  Instructional Teams meet regularly (twice a month or more for 45 minutes each meeting) to review implementation of effective practice and student progress.

    • ELA – Proficiency goal of 45% in 3rd Grade, 55% in 4th Grade,  and 45% in 5th Grade on the Reading EOG
    • Math – Proficiency goal of 70% in 3rd Grade, 70% in 4th Grade, and 70% in 5th Grade on the Math EOG 
    • Science (5th) – Proficiency goal of 55% on the 5th Grade Science EOG

Bunn Elementary believes that parental involvement means the participation for parents in regular two-way and meaningful communication about student academic learning and other school activities. 

This ensures that parents are full partners in their child’s academic development and are included, as appropriate, in decision-making and on advisory committees to assist in the education of their child.
